After arriving in Guatemala City, you'll be transferred to Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Guatemala’s most picturesque colonial cities. Nestled in the central highlands, Antigua is renowned for its well-preserved Spanish Baroque architecture and vibrant cultural heritage. Surrounded by three towering volcanoes, the city captivates with its charming cobblestone streets, colorful facades, and historic landmarks, including the iconic Santa Catalina Arch and numerous ancient churches.

Antigua is also famous for its lively markets, artisan crafts, and festivals, especially its spectacular Semana Santa (Holy Week) celebrations. Explore this enchanting city on foot with a local guide, who will share insights into its rich history and notable highlights.

During your stay, we recommend visiting some of Antigua’s fascinating museums, browsing local markets, and joining a visit to a local cooperative to learn traditional weaving techniques. For adventure seekers, a mountain biking excursion offers an exciting way to explore the surrounding landscapes. If you’re visiting during Holy Week, you’ll have a unique opportunity to witness the city’s deeply rooted Catholic traditions and vibrant processions firsthand.

VOLCANO OVERNIGHT (1 night)

Start your day early with a thrilling hike up Acatenango Volcano. Pack essentials for an overnight stay as you embark on a 5-6 hour trek to reach the base camp. Along the trail, enjoy panoramic views of Antigua’s volcanic landscape. A boxed lunch will be provided to refuel along the way.

Upon arrival at base camp, settle into your tent. For those craving even more adventure, an optional afternoon hike offers the chance to get closer to the lava flows of the neighboring active volcano. At night, relax with a cup of hot chocolate and local pastries as you watch the mesmerizing volcanic activity against a starlit sky.

The next morning, before returning to Antigua, you'll hike to Acatenango's summit—rising above the clouds just in time to witness a breathtaking sunrise.

LAKE ATITLAN (2 nights)

Lake Atitlán is an extraordinary destination, celebrated for its stunning natural beauty and vibrant cultural heritage. Discover the unique character of each lakeside village, each offering a distinct experience. In San Pedro La Laguna, enjoy lively streets, excellent coffee, and scenic hiking trails, while in San Juan La Laguna, immerse yourself in traditional Maya culture by visiting artisan cooperatives that use natural dyes and ancient weaving techniques.

For a more active adventure, paddle across the lake by kayak, or dive into a hands-on cooking class where you'll learn traditional cooking methods and local recipes.

Arrive in a private helicopter ride over Lake Atitlán, offering breathtaking aerial views of the surrounding volcanoes.

TIKAL (2 nights)

Tikal, nestled deep within Guatemala’s lush jungle, stands as one of the most impressive ancient Maya cities. Renowned for its towering pyramids and sprawling temples, Tikal provides visitors with a fascinating glimpse into the rich cultural past of the Maya civilization. As you explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site with a knowledgeable local guide, you’ll gain insights into its history and significance, while enjoying the sounds of the jungle around you.
